1969 Triumph TR6 W/OD -- Fresh Cosmetic & Mechanical Refresh

The 1969 Triumph TR6 featured here is finished in the factory correct color
combination of Signal Red over a black interior and black, folding convertible top. Per
the accompanying British Motor Industry Heritage Trust Certificate, this example was
completed on July 1st 1969 and was originally dispatched to British Leyland Motors Inc.
of Los Angeles, California. IT'S ALIVE! acquired this TR6 in December of 2021 from an
individual who stated the TR6 remained with its original owner until 2015; reputedly
over 45 years of single ownership! Upon thorough inspection, we determined the TR6
displayed a lot of originality on the interior while an older repaint started showing
signs of wear. The odometer displayed a mere 56,000 miles, a number that we would
not dispute as actual mileage accrued from new, given its condition. It was decided to
take this TR6 up a notch by performing a sympathetic, cosmetic restoration. The car
was stripped of all lamps, trim and weather stripping and professionally resprayed by
our in-house team. The interior was completely removed including the transmission
tunnel so the standard 4 speed unit could be replaced with a fully rebuilt factory
specification OverDrive transmission complete with proper wiring, switches and
column escutcheon. Once the transmission was installed and tested a new wood
dashboard panel was fitted, while all the weather stripping was replaced with new trim
being procured as necessary. A new set of stainless steel bumpers from Group
Harrington were fitted along with a new set of 72 spoke chrome, ensuring the
brightwork of this TR6 leaves nothing desired. A new set of Coker 185R15 redline tires
further enhance the appearance of this TR6, while retaining the period correct look
listed under the equipment details of the Heritage Certificate. IT'S ALIVE! is proud to
